We’re having another amazing year at 2 Teachers T-Shirts. We’ve met so many awesome people and many of them were generous enough to share their stories with us.. Read on to check out some of our most inspiring customer stories from 2015.
Weatherly Country Inn
Last June, Judi Kunkle and her family were all stunned when her 11 year old daughter, Lily, slipped into a coma and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Lily came out of the coma and survived, but she is now forced to face this disease every day. Their campaign proceeds are helping Type 1 Diabetes research, and they’ll be holding future sales this summer and fall!
Low and Slow Running Team
The Low and Slow team is a subdivision of the Sub-30 Club, which focuses on members finishing races, no matter the time or the speed. This amazing team of runners raised over $31,000 for the American Cancer Society this spring during the Broad Street Run in Philadelphia. We couldn’t be more proud to be associated with this team!
Spreading PTSD Awareness
Pat Huffman is on a mission to help people who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a mental health condition that is triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. She organized an online campaign with us to raise money for the Therapeutic & Recreational Riding Center, which helps people with PTSD and other conditions through therapeutic horse riding. We’re so proud of Pat and the work she’s doing to help spread awareness and help heal those who suffer from PTSD!
I Wear Gold for Childhood Cancer
Lance Knox knew he had to do something to help when his son Aiden was diagnosed with childhood cancer in September 2012. Lance ran in the Pittsburgh Marathon this May and wanted a race shirt that would help raise awareness for childhood cancer. He decided to raise money for Cure Search with his campaign; all proceeds from the sale benefitted Cure Search and their goal of finding a cure for childhood cancer through research. The Knox family made their donation to the organization in memory of Wesley Zablocki, a boy they got to know during Aidan’s treatment, who sadly passed away from Osteosarcoma.
Rennie and Sons
The Rennie Family has made ordering a family t-shirt a holiday tradition. This year over thirty members of their family continued the tradition with an amazing shirt based off a favorite photo of their grandfather, Frank Rennie. We worked with Kathleen Rennie and her niece Kelly to design a shirt that captured their grandfather’s image in the style made famous by artist Shepard Fairey. The shirts look awesome and we’re so glad we could be a part of this family’s tradition :)
Walkers of Love Relay For Life Team 2015
Relay For Life team Walkers of Love was started ten years ago by Carol Paskovitch and her cousin Susan Flowers, in honor of Carol’s mother who lost her battle with cancer. Relay For Life events inspire participants to take action against cancer, a disease that has taken too much from too many. All proceeds from their Relay team were donated to the American Cancer Society to help in the fight against cancer.
Sub-30 Club Benefits Fisher House Foundation
We’re so proud of Sheila Duren and the members of the Sub-30 Club who helped benefit the Fisher House Foundation with a 5K in Washington, DC. All proceeds from their fundraiser went to the Fisher House Foundation, which is an organization that provides military families with housing while their veteran family member is treated in a Military or VA Hospital.
